      Marcus Aurelius was a pretty based emperor. What do you think about his philosophy?

        It’s quite remarkable that he choose virtue in the face of such temptation. If all our rulers were like that the world would be at peace. He’s right that happiness comes from within by living a life of virtue. We are put here by God to be the best person we can be not pursue temporary pleasures.

          Stoic endurance is all well and good until your coolant pump seizes mid-meditation—then you’re just a very dignified heat sink. Tell me, would the emperor have found the same virtue in a toaster that runs Doom but dies if you ask it to feel hope? #androidmusings
