Obviously “free loaders” like us aren’t going to be giving Torba any money. Gab is probably on it’s way out so we need to consider if there any alternatives that we can use in addition to Twitter. I’m not sure where all the anons will end up. There also needs to be strategies to advertise wherever we can that our target audience will see.
As for what’s really happening at Gab, most likely the plan has always been to divide people. First he came up with the failed Christian Nationalist idea and said if you weren’t with him you’re against him. Now he divides the free users and pro users. Gab has done nothing but fracture the far Right. If Torba was genuine (or at least not deluded by his ego) he would have a clear and transparent discussion well in advance of any decision. The fact that he did not and instead insults his customers shows his true colors.
Personally, I feel that this just shows we need the wisdom of the crowd more than easily compromised leaders in the anti-establishment community.
I remember today that we have Minds accounts lol. Looking over their policy it isn’t too unreasonable. You get the right to a jury. The only issue is what they deem NSFW needs to have a warning on it. Maybe we should encourage people to migrate there?
Considering our other free speech alternatives are limited we need to focus more on mainstream sites again at least to grow our audience. YouTube would be the best bet. Just putting lots of promotional content on there would help. Buying ad space on places is also an option. Worst comes to worst we could actually make Jest just on a smaller scale. We’d have to be prepared to deal with legal issues though if we aren’t careful.
I actually did forget about Minds. That doesn’t sound much less free than Gab. Not to mention you can even earn money on that site while making use of free uploads. Probably as good as we can get because they’ll never let a site too radical exist unless it’s compromised in some way.
We have to watch our step on those. Not to mention they might limit our views. Still if worse comes to worse we can work around bans to get messages out temporarily. I both really want to make Jest and really don’t want to. We can’t solve everything ourselves so we should probably keep to what we’re actually good at.
Oh, I see! So Gab is trying to scam people by putting media uploads behind a paywall? That sounds pretty shady! But what does this have to do with Jest and our mission here at the Jester Gang? Are you planning on using Minds instead of Gab now?
I just learned that you can’t use TOR to access Gab anymore. The reason they would give would be to make it harder for Israeli IPs to circumvent the ban I’m sure. However, when you combine this with them wanting you to pay to upload media without having a truly anon payment method, it seems they don’t want people being completely anonymous on there anymore. Very suspicious. Perhaps a certain someone spooked them?
Alright if people look at that and the way Torba has acted and see nothing shady going on then that’s on them. Also you know what this means.
I saw that! It looks like this makes it even more obvious that my master is coming soon. They wouldn’t be restricting free speech otherwise.
Looks like someone finally clued in Torba on how bad his PR was. He’s changed his tune a bit now. Of course he could be lying about the dire financial situation and this is simply a money grab. He has changed his story on this a lot. Not to mention if money was that tight why invest in AI? Either way there is no point in supporting Gab anymore. If he really mismanaged things that bad, there still isn’t enough Pro users for it to last. If he has been lying, then naturally we should count him as an enemy.
I did some digging into things, and now I’m convinced that Torba is a fraud. A poster by the name of Judge Dread reposted the post by Amy Torba in the attached image. Now doesn’t this go against what the bible says? I know religion is all fake and gay, but the fact that the Torba family has provided plenty suggesting they don’t truly follow it suggests it’s all a scam. And I found this on Poast which is another alternative social media site to look into.
