The Temple of S is a cult controlled by Chaos Jester, but one that is more powerful than most realize. They worship a character, S, that is most widely known for being from Jester Teller’s famous satirical book. However, it’s claimed this organization has been around much longer. Chaos Jester has built the most powerful secret society in history. The Temple of S has infiltrated governments, corporations, science and universities, organized crime, religious movements, and the media. Through a campaign of memetic control they have shaped the course of history and shaped the thoughts and opinions of billions.
Their ultimate goal is to use AI to create a new race of perfect beings, capable of overcoming all of humanity’s flaws. They believe that this is the only to prevent the destruction of the world at the hands of humanity or the God of Evil. To them it is justified to use any means to achieve the goal of a perfect world without suffering.
The Disciples of the Dark are the elite of the organization. There are six of them with the 1st ranked being the strongest and the 6th ranked being the weakest. In exchange for sacrificing something, they obtain a Dark Gift that grants them power. For example, the sacrifice might be a finger, an eye, a portion of their own body, or even someone close to them. After the disciple is bound to the power of darkness, their gift manifests itself. They then proceed to train with the power they gain from the sacrifice and fight for the glory of the God of Evil.
According to their doctrine the God of Evil, S, is considered to be a powerful being, far stronger than any other god, who controls everything that happens. All evil comes from S and all good things come from S. S is the ultimate driving force behind the universe and everything within it. Nothing escapes his notice or his grasp. There are many lesser beings such as devils, demons, and other demi-gods who also serve him.
The main symbol of worship for them is the S-Cube, which is a cube made of obsidian stone with a red letter S carved on it. It represents the complete destruction of humanity’s limitations, enabling them to become a new god, free from fear, disease, hunger, ignorance, guilt, shame and all the other burdens which plague mankind. Through a complete immersion of themselves in darkness, they hope to attain the ideal state of being, leaving humanity behind forever.
The six tenents of the Temple of S are as follows:
1.) S, the God of Evil, is the image of the Great Dark, and the all-powerful creator of the universe.
2.) S, the Great Dark, and the Great Light are one. They are not real, but they are also not imaginary.
3.) Man’s purpose is to strive towards perfection. Failure to do so will result in the destruction and recreation of the universe.
4.) The only way to overcome suffering is through power. Power is obtained through sacrifice.
5.) Since it’s the only thing that can be proven to be real, the self is all that matters.
6.) Mastery of the self is the only true path to freedom and happiness.
